Nick Hubbard is a well established jeweller using text as a descriptive, humorous tool, manipulating wording from rhymes and storytelling. He creates delightful figurative jewellery often bearing words or tongue in cheek messages. Nick set up his workshop in 1978 from a small room in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter and his workshop is now based in Staffordshire.
‘My work concentrates on figurative themes, sometimes becoming comic allegories, bearing words or a tongue in cheek message. Jewellery (brooches, ear-rings, and cuff-links etc.) is finely detailed and made in oxidised silver incorporating highlights of silver.'
